Within my own being, quietly

I’ve got no more energy to reach beyond myself.

I’m full of life, but not for that.

Not to push through,
Not to override myself,
Nor try to get somewhere.

The taste of this struggle is leaving my lips,

The tension of trying has been unwinding from around my bones these last years…

And I am shaking myself free

Within my own being,

Quietly.

What emerges is essence, instinct, innocence…

Which needs no improvement,
No adjustment,
Only embrace and willingness.

I choose myself as I am,

I choose my life as it is.
