Spring Medicine Intensive

5th April – 19th April

– 2/3 May (both days) – 24th May

11:30 – 7pm

The forests of Eberswalde & a private residence

Join us for a 5 day intensive spread across the spring on the medicinal plants of this area.

We’ll highlight the medicinal and magical uses of the plants as they re-emerge in the precious season of spring- which is an ideal time to learn our land, replenish our systems and empower ourselves with practices of spiritual renewal and practical hands on plant and earth work.

The kinds of topics we’ll cover:

  • Plant walks focusing on ID, ecology, and sustainable wildcrafting
  • Lots of medicine making skills and wild food gathering
  • Seasonal cleansing and clearing with local plants
  • Aligning energetically with the season of rising energy and sap and learning to harness this and support this without overwhelm
  • Communion practices with plants and place, intuitive skill development (with practices to deepen between sessions)
  • Story, song and folklore
  • Solo adventures in the woods and time with the plants on the land
  • Nourishing our bodies of earth through touch, movement, connection and getting our hands dirty

(This is all going to be responsive to what’s out there in the woods for us to meet, to the desires and movements of the group, to where the earth guides us -hence the ‘may’ in the course content below.

I just don’t know exactly what we will do…. which I am very excited about. You will be given opportunity to share what you want to learn and find most inspiring to explore which will shape the course content)

Plants we’ll work with may* include:

nettle, birch, beech, elder, chickweed, pine, spruce, fir, cleavers, cedar, garlic mustard, violets, dandelion, raspberry, blackberry, ground ivy, plantain, dead nettles, clary sage, elecampane, English ivy, alder, sorrel, yellow dock, burdock, valerian, wood anemones, sorcerers violets.

⧫ Why Local Plant Magic? ⧫

We live in a time when so much is accessible to us. There are many plants from far away lands that are well known for their consciousness shifting properties, and there can be a tendency to think that only these plants have deep magic, or only these plants can shift our consciousness in noticeable ways.

However… **Every plant is consciousness shifting** (or has the potential to be).

And the plants that grow in the same ground that we walk upon hold particular wisdom for us. Despite our ever more global perspective, we are creatures that are deeply tied to place, and wired for (and often we’re deeply yearning for) relationship, reciprocity and real connection with our environments and the natural intelligences within them.

⧫ About my approach — direct experience, cultivating intuition and discernment ⧫

A significant aspect of my approach to plant work is an emphasis on the importance of direct experiential work with  plants and other natural intelligences.

This means cultivating states of stillness, simplicity and communion and learning to listen deeply through your own being, through your body and your energy system.

This is is a way of reclaiming your own channel in relationship to the spirits that surround us. It profoundly enhances your ability to work with them and receive their guidance. It also supports you to strengthen your intuitive and discernment capacities which are applicable in every part of life.

I balance this with deep curiosity about and acknowledgement of the importance of the story and song of the plant world as well as an understanding of its medicinal properties and actions. My invitation is to dive into working with plants holistically and in intimacy.
